NBA DRAFT COMBINE DAY 2 – ATHLETIC TESTING

ANDREW WIGGINS – Even as a no show, Wiggins stole the show as a picture was posted of his freakishly high vertical jump. I would have loved to see him measure up against all the other prospects in the draft.

TYLER ENNIS

Standing vertical – 29.0

Max vertical – 36.0

Lane agility – 11.12

Shuttle run – 2.84

¾ sprint – 3.30

Height without shoes – 6′ 1″

Height with shoes – 6′ 2.5″

Weight – 182

Wingspan – 6′ 7.25″

Standing reach – 8′ 2″

Body fat % – N/A

Notes – Ennis showed that he is a little more athletic than some scouts may have thought. He is still an average athlete compared to some of the point guards in the NBA; however this will not hurt his stock since he doesn’t rely on his athleticism while he plays. Tyler finished with the 3rd fastest shuttle run out the entire combine.

NIK STAUSKAS

Standing vertical – 29.0

Max vertical – 35.5

Lane agility – 10.79

Shuttle run – 2.92

¾ sprint – 3.27

Height without shoes – 6′ 5.25″

Height with shoes – 6′ 6.5″

Weight – 207

Wingspan – 6′ 7.75″

Standing reach – 8′ 6″

Body fat % – 12.1

Notes – Stauskas also showed he is little bit more athleticism by finishing 5th fastest in the lane agility from the whole combine and had decent results in the other test throughout the day.

DWIGHT POWELL

Standing vertical – 28.5

Max vertical – 35.0

Lane agility – 11.28

Shuttle run – 2.88

¾ sprint – 3.20

Height without shoes – 6′ 9.5″

Height with shoes – 6′ 11″

Weight – 234

Wingspan – 7′ 0.5″

Standing reach – 8′ 9″

Body fat % – N/A

Notes – Powell continues to show why his is going to be valuable in the NBA. He finished 1st in the shuttle run and the ¾ sprint out of all the big men, and 6th and 10th out of all prospects at the combine respectively.

KHEM BIRCH

Standing vertical – 30.5

Max vertical – 35.5

Lane agility – 11.60

Shuttle run – 3.24

¾ sprint – 3.26

Height without shoes – 6′ 7.5″

Height with shoes – 6′ 9.25″

Weight – 209

Wingspan – 7′ 1″

Standing reach – 8′ 11″

Body fat % – N/A

Notes – Birch had a slow shuttle run, however performed fairly well in the rest of the testing. He is a middle of the pack athlete and will need to continue to improve to make an impact at the next level.

MELVIN EJIM

Standing vertical – 29.5

Max vertical – 35.0

Lane agility – 11.55

Shuttle run – 3.12

¾ sprint – 3.14

Height without shoes – 6′ 5.25″

Height with shoes – 6′ 7″

Weight – 219

Wingspan – 6′ 11.75″

Standing reach – 8′ 7.5″

Body fat % – N/A

Notes – Ejim tested well at day 2 of the combine with the 2nd fastest ¾ sprint out of the every prospect at the combine.

JORDAN BACHYNSKI

Standing vertical – 29.0

Max vertical – 33.0

Lane agility – 12.15

Shuttle run – 3.03

¾ sprint – 3.36

Height without shoes – 7′ 1.25″

Height with shoes – N/A

Weight – 254

Wingspan – 7′ 4″

Standing reach – 9′ 0.5″

Body fat % – 7.5

Notes – Surprisingly Bachynski showed us more athleticism than expected. Having a 33 inch vertical is pretty decent for a 7’2” center.

NBA PRE-DRAFT MEASUREMENTS

ANDREW WIGGINS – He was a no show along with two other top picks Joel Embiid and Jabari Parker. The decision to skip the draft combine will not affect his positioning in the draft however I think all three should have shown up for interviews, measurements and physical testing.

TYLER ENNIS

Height without shoes – 6′ 1″

Height with shoes – 6′ 2.5″

Weight – 182

Wingspan – 6′ 7.25″

Standing reach – 8′ 2″

Body fat % – N/A

Notes – Ennis measured the same as expected with no surprises. I am looking forward to tomorrow’s athletic testing to see what Ennis can show.

NIK STAUSKAS

Height without shoes – 6′ 5.25″

Height with shoes – 6′ 6.5″

Weight – 207

Wingspan – 6′ 7.75″

Standing reach – 8′ 6″

Body fat % – 12.1

Notes – Stauskas had some good measurements today, but over 12% body fat seems a bit high. I am also looking forward to the physical testing to see how his improved athleticism compares with others.

DWIGHT POWELL

Height without shoes – 6′ 9.5″

Height with shoes – 6′ 11″

Weight – 234

Wingspan – 7′ 0.5″

Standing reach – 8′ 9″

Body fat % – N/A

Notes – Not many players measure taller than they were listed in college, but Powell was 6’11” in shoes and seemed to put on some good weight. I personally believe Powell has a chance to move up the draft board quite a bit by the time the picks begin. Possibly a late first round pick if all goes well.

KHEM BIRCH

Height without shoes – 6′ 7.5″

Height with shoes – 6′ 9.25″

Weight – 209

Wingspan – 7′ 1″

Standing reach – 8′ 11″

Body fat % – N/A

Notes – Birch measured very long today at the combine, but only weighing in at 209 seems light for a power forward. He will need to add some strength to compete with the bigger forwards in the NBA.

MELVIN EJIM

Height without shoes – 6′ 5.25″

Height with shoes – 6′ 7″

Weight – 219

Wingspan – 6′ 11.75″

Standing reach – 8′ 7.5″

Body fat % – N/A

Notes – Ejim measured well today with a huge wingspan. This will help his stock as being a tweener forward, as his long arms will help him defend both positions.

JORDAN BACHYNSKI

Height without shoes – 7′ 1.25″

Height with shoes – N/A

Weight – 254

Wingspan – 7′ 4″

Standing reach – 9′ 0.5″

Body fat % – 7.5

Notes – Bachynski is huge! Over 7 feet tall without shoes and a very long wingspan will help his stock.
